Automation by Suhner

Romheld Automation is pleased to announce it has reached agreement with Suhner Australia to distribute the Suhner LCA (low cost automation) range of drilling, tapping and machining units.

Made in Switzerland, the range includes quill feed spindles and preloaded linear slides for accuracy and rigidity. Feed motion is usually pneumatic with hydraulic damping, with pneumatic/hydraulic and CNC options also available.

AC and servo spindle drive motors with speeds up to 23000 rpm and power up to 22kW are available, with each motor offering a wide range of spindle speeds via an enclosed belt drive. Suhner also offers flexible drive shafts, with up to 8 running to separate spindles from a single motor.

Suhner LCA units are most commonly used for simple repetitive operations such as drilling, tapping, milling, sawing, sanding and grinding, either mounted on a robot or in place of an expensive machining centre.
