Schunk SOO Johannes Ketterer summarises the remarkable properties: “ADHESO is one of the simplest and most innovative handling technologies on the market.” Using individually adapted plasdtic pads made of special polymers to reproduce a fine hair structure on the adhesive grippers, these adhere securely to a wide range of materials and can hold parts without the need for compressed air, a vacuum or electricity.”
SCHUNK ADHESO technology at-a-glance
This is a completely new way to grip sensitive workpieces without energy or residue suitable for a wide range of industries and applications.
Excellent for use in hygienically sensitive environments (see the video from CoLab), Schunk’s ADHESO adhesion grippers do not use electronics nor vacuums. The gripper makes use of the Van der Waals forces, much like a gecko.
Grippers with ADHESO technology can be individually tailored to different applications with four standard ADHESO gripper pad sizes with matching ISO flange adapters available.
